content description

The Flora and Fauna Series is a collection of twenty-six single malts that are usually appear only in Diageo's blended whiskies. The purpose of the series was to showcase these often overlooked distilleries and give whisky fans the chance to experience their true nature.

Linkwood (a Speyside single malt) is one of those twenty-six distilleries and its 12-year-old expression was chosen to represent the distillery in the Flora and Fauna Series. The Linkwood 12 Years Old is matured in ex-bourbon casks, it is chill filtered and contains artificial colouring. The average price of this bottle is around $60.

On the nose: caramelised apples, toffee, almonds, marzipan, vanilla, honey and some citrus and menthol notes.

On the palate: slightly spicy entry, almonds, vanilla ice cream and honey. Some floral notes in the back.

Finish: medium length with floral notes and honey.

Overall: a light and pleasant whisky with plenty of fragrant floral and fruity notes.
