The Maker's Mark Cask Strength: a damn good Kentucky Straight Bourbon!

content description

In addition to their classic Red Seal expression and Maker's 46, the Maker's Mark range is also home to Maker's Mark Cask Strength - which is exactly what you think it is: Maker's Mark, bottled at cask strength. This expression is bottled at 55.8% ABV, is chill filtered and contains no artificial colouring. The average price for this bottle is around $90.

On the nose: surprisingly light! Lot's of vanilla, caramel and toffee notes. In the back there's cinnamon and nuttiness (salted peanuts mostly).

On the palate: very similar to the nose. Lot's of vanilla and cinnamon notes with peanut and cherry notes in the back.

Finish: clean and refreshing. Medium/long in length with notes of oak, cinnamon and vanilla.

Overall: delicious stuff from the lads at Maker's Mark! The more we drank this, the more we loved it. It's not a cheap whiskey but it worth every penny. Highly recommended.
