Review: Nikka Days Blended Whisky

Nikka Days Blended Whisky: a delicate and light blended whisky that didn't hit the spot with us.

Nikka Days Blended Whisky
content description

Nikka Days Blended Whisky is a bright blend of malt and grain whiskies from both Nikka's Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries. This expression is chill filtered, bottled at 40% ABV and contains artificial flavouring. The average price of this bottle is around $55.

On the nose: not bad but definitely a young whisky. You'll get green apples, bananas and pears. A slight malty flavour that brings to mind digestive biscuits. In the back there's some lemon and white chocolate.

On the palate: apple, pear and banana notes, some toffee and vanilla. Very light ... too light.

Finish: short in length and quite dry and malty.

Overall: Meh. If you're into light fruity whiskies then this is for you.
